The Showstopper Cake at The Cake & Bake Show 2024 was one of the event’s most talked-about highlights!
Created by award-winning cake artist Jane Lashbrook of Fabulously Fondant, the spectacular piece was inspired by Wicked: The Movie (2024) and featured a life-sized, hyper-realistic recreation of Elphaba, as portrayed by Cynthia Erivo. This unforgettable masterpiece pushed the boundaries of edible art.
Jane’s journey began at The Cake & Bake Show in 2016, where she won her very first competition. In 2024, she returned with her most ambitious creation to date – a celebration of imagination, skill, and craftsmanship.
The cake wowed thousands of visitors, including contestants from the latest season of The Great British Bake Off, who were blown away by its scale, realism, and attention to detail.
Inspired by the highly anticipated debut of Wicked the Movie, the theme for last year's Showstopper was based on the iconic character from the film of the season.
We were thrilled to work with award-winning Cake Artist Jane Lashbrook from Fabulously Fondant on last year’s musical-inspired cake installation!
You might remember Jane from the previous year's show, when she created our magical life-size Santa Showstopper!
Having entered her very first competition in 2016 as a hobby baker at The Cake & Bake Show and won 1st prize, we were delighted to work with Jane to create The Showstopper for the second year running.
Jane created last year's Showstopper using award-winning modelling paste from Saracino.
Many attendees grabbed a selfie with this epic musical-inspired life-sized cake installation; it was wicked!
