In our recent social media poll, baking fans across the UK chose this year’s theme – and the winner was clear: The Festive Edition!

Think dazzling designs that celebrate the season: shimmering Christmas baubles, festive puddings, pinecones, presents, roast turkeys - pick your favourite thing about the season and create it out of cake!

Be part of the UK’s ultimate baking, cake decorating and sugarcraft event at Olympia, London, 26 - 30 November 2025. All cake entries will be proudly showcased at The Cake & Bake Show, giving your bakes the spotlight they deserve. 

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a talented home baker, this is your moment to shine (or sleigh!). The competition is open to all ages and experience levels – if you love baking and creativity, we want to see what you can whip up!

Judging Criteria:

  • Originality and creativity of design
  • Overall visual impact
  • Skills and execution of technique
  • Interpretation of the theme
  • Cake must fit within a base area of 38cm x 38cm (15" x 15") square and there are no height restrictions
  • Cake will not be judged on taste, they are solely judged on appearance
  • Any edible medium may be used and wires, tape, ribbon and stamen are allowed
  • Internal supports and dummies are allowed

The important bits: 

Cakes must be dropped off at The Cake & Bake Show section of the Ideal Home Show Christmas at Olympia, London on Tuesday 25th November between 4-6pm. Please note you will be sent an information pack via email once you have entered. Please allow a few days for this to come through.

Your cake must then stay on display at the event until 5pm on Sunday 30th November.

All competition pieces must ONLY be removed between 5pm-6pm on Sunday 30th November and strictly NOT before. The organisers reserve the right to remove and dispose of any competition pieces not collected during this time.
