Melissa Woolford
BFA Architecture(Hons) MArch(Hons) FRSA
Melissa is the Founder and Director of the Museum of Architecture which she started in 2006 to find new ways for the public to engage with architecture. She has created exhibitions such as The Gingerbread City®, Treehouses, Sandcastles, Nature's Architects and Well Built, and has initiated innovative programming such as the School for Creative Thinkers, offering subscription boxes, kits, and workshops to teach young people about design through nature. Also the Founder and Director of Nous Collaborative, an agency that specialises in bringing architecture and the creative industries together with brands, her past clients include the Wild Turkey Bourbon, Dove, Ocean Spray and the Delfina Foundation. Starting her career at Zaha Hadid Architects has given her knowledge of the architecture and design industry as well as a strong network of people who she continues to work with. She has lectured on new business strategies for the built environment at institutions including Harvard GSD, the Bartlett and Loughborough University. Melissa graduated with an honors convocation for a Masters in Architecture from Pratt Institute and magna cum laude Commonwealth College Honors Scholar with a BFA in Architecture from the University of Massachusetts.
