Let’s cut into one of our favourite cake trends, hyper realistic cakes.

You never know nowadays what is real and what is cake. The endless videos of knives cutting into seemingly normal objects, only to reveal they are cake, flood social media constantly leaving us entertained, shocked and hungry, for hours on end.

We have seen it all, from bags to animals to pickles, and we have to say we love it! In 2019 we held our own illusion cake competition when we invited the amazing baking and cake decorating community to showcase amazing followers showcased their fondant sculping talents.
